wBrisbane Workshop: Les Chantery Screen Audition Technique

Brisbane Workshop: Les Chantery Screen Audition Technique

“Les gave me the confidence to back myself in a room auditioning in front of towering industry professionals and the tools to continually learn and teach myself better screen technique to record first class self-tests at home with my peers”

– Joel Jackson, Peter Allen – AACTA winner Best Actor, Deadline Gallipoli – AACTA Nominee Best Actor.

“Are you screen testing well?”  This is a question that Al Pacino asked Les Chantery when they worked together, several years ago.

For Les, this question propelled him on a quest to understand, what were the common factors (other than talent) in all successful screen tests, that either got the actor the job or the attention of the casting director.

Les teaches an essential skill that all actors must master – How to show up when it matters most – in the screen test. He teaches actors what is crucial to know about performances that ‘Pop’ within the restraint of the mid-shot frame.

Testimonial from Chole Bayliss

“Three years ago, I walked into one of Les Chantery’s classes and have been continuing to return and spread the word about his incredible work ever since! Les has an amazing ability to give you all the tools you need to tackle the audition process both here and in America.

He has a wealth of knowledge that has taken my approach to auditioning and self testing to the next level. I have used his techniques and thoughts about acting and the industry time and time again.  He not only gave me a bunch of technical tools to apply on screen but he has also helped me to get out of my head and take on each “opportunity” with confidence. On top of all of this, he is kind, extremely generous, giving and approachable.

I cannot thank him enough for helping me tap into the best possible version of myself i can be- both in acting and life!” – Chloe Bayliss, Doctor Doctor, Backtrack, 2016 Heath Ledger Scholarship Finalist
