Jamie Zamudio

Jamie is the Co-Director of 16th Street Films and The Pegasus Foundation as well as the Managing Director of 16th Street Actors Studio.

He trained at NIDA (Young Actors Studio) and Atlantic Theatre School in New York and holds a Bachelor of Communications having studied journalism in both Australia (Ossie Award Winner) and San Diego (USA).

He also undertook post-graduate studies in screenwriting at the prestigious UCLA (USA).

Jamie has worked as a researcher, film reviewer and on-air announcer and was an Assistant Producer on a popular daily arts program The Lounge on PBS (USA) which featured some of the biggest names in America’s arts and entertainment industries.

Jamie taught radio and television broadcasting for five years at The University of Western Sydney where he trained many young journalists currently rising through the ranks of the Australian media.

He has also worked as a consultant having conducted development programs in radio broadcasting and radio dramas in Cambodia.

In 2006, Jamie and Kim teamed up to create 16th Street Films which developed film scripts and produced a television pilot of a light entertainment interview program In Conversation With… which profiles famous Australian actors.

2009 saw the launch of 16th Street Actors Studio - Australia’s first US-style studio for professional actor training. The studio has grown rapidly ever since and has being firmly embraced by the entertainment industry as a foremost studio for actor development, training some of the most celebrated actors in the country.

In 2010, Jamie and Kim launched The Pegasus Foundation – a not-for-profit artists development fund to support emerging and established performers continue their training. It has developed with the generosity and support of our founding sponsors, principally, The Pratt Foundation and Hugh Jackman.

In 2012, Jamie is heading up the expansion of 16th Street to offer broader Creative Services – to fully support actors in Australia while strengthening our relationships with leading agents, casting consultants, Showcast and our US affiliates.
