ACTING FOR FILM

WITH AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR, JASON RAFTOPOULOS

“Authenticity drives all my choices and eliciting honest performances from actors and non-actors was key in the film.  My job is ultimately to create an environment on set where actors could live unencumbered, regardless of the difficulties of the shoot.” - Jason Raftopoulos

Join internationally acclaimed Director and Writer, Jason Raftopoulos for a three day dive into the heart of screen acting. This intensive is designed to challenge the actor and uncover raw, honest performances on camera. The curriculum centers on the intersection of narrative analysis and technical execution. Jason is a master at eliciting truth before the camera. As a director, he possesses a rare sensitivity to emotional nuance - attuned to the quiet, raw, and ephemeral moments within performance that are often elusive, and almost impossible to perceive from within the actor’s own body. Through working with Jason, I have come to understand that these are the moments that make film the extraordinary art form that it is..” - Hannah Sims, 16th Street Graduate & star of Jasons film, Voices In Deep (2023).
