Brigid has worked extensively at world class theatres in critically acclaimed productions at The National, The RSC, The Lincoln Centre  New York, Sydney Theatre Company and everything in between.  2025 sees her starring in an exhilarating new staging of Shakespeare's 'Coriolanus', playing his heroic mother Volumnia, produced by Australia's leading Shakespearian theatre company Bell Shakespeare. 

BACKGROUND

Recently starred as Odette, the mother of the leading character Kat in Netflix's 'Missing You' adapted from the crime novel by Harlan Coben and also starring Lenny Henry, Richard Armitage and James Nesbitt. 

Her 28-year acting career includes playing the lawyer for protagonist Agatha in Series 2 of the BBC drama series 'The Secrets She Keeps' which starred Laura Carmichael.  She can also be seen as Kevin's lawyer in ‘Motherland’ (BBC) and in Season 2 of the critically acclaimed ‘Trying’ (Apple TV+/BBC Comedy) starring Imelda Staunton. She She has appeared in many more TV programmes including Mother Father Son (BBC), People Just Do Nothing (BBC), Sherlock (BBC) and in season 3 of ‘Fortitude’ (Sky).

In 2022 she starred in 'Blithe Spirit' at the Sydney Theatre Company, following her 2021 appearance at the same theatre playing Paige in 'Death of a Salesman'.  

Her film credits include a role in Warner Bros 2019 movie ‘The Good Liar’ starring Helen Mirren and Ian McKellan, ‘U Want Me 2 Kill Him?’ and ‘The Hardest Part’ which won Best Short Film at the Montreal Film Festival.

She has made several appearances on BBC Radio 4’s Poetry Please.
