INTRO TO INTIMACY
WITH EVE MOREY
This one-day workshop is specifically designed to support actors, directors, and other creative practitioners and leaders in effectively navigating intimacy within performance contexts. Led by Eve Morey, a professional intimacy coordinator, the session will begin by clearly defining the concept of ‘intimate content’ and exploring its role in storytelling. Participants will engage in content focused on negotiating consent, choreographing intimate physicality, and clarifying narrative intentions - tools essential for fostering a safe and respectful creative environment.
This class is open to 16 participants.
These processes can be integrated into the workflow of a production to foster brave and inclusive creative spaces that acknowledge and honour performers’ boundaries, whist whilst unlocking the dramatic potential and enhancing creative storytelling.
Please note: This workshop involves group exercises exploring consent, as well as the opportunity to choreograph a moment of intimate physicality within groups, applying the methodology explored during the first half of the workshop. If you would like more information or have any questions about this or any part of the workshop, please don’t hesitate to reach out. In the spirit of the IC practice, the practical exercises offered as part of this workshop are invitational.
