In this 4-day Professional Scene Study Masterclass, 32 actors will be partnered and cast in a scene from an acclaimed play.

Actors will work on the greatest plays from past and present. When actors work on great writing, they are challenged to develop their artistry.

This masterclass is for professional actors and trained graduates, who wish to advance their craft and deepen their technique.

In preparation for the Masterclass, the actors will be required to rehearse thoroughly with costume and with accents, specific to the play they are working on.

Nancy will guide actors to courageously commit to their choices with truth and specificity by delving deep into the circumstances of the play and the characters’ life. In doing so, actors will be fired up emotionally and behaviourally, to give vivid and memorable performances that connect with their audience.

NANCY BANKS

After studying with Larry Moss for 10 years, Nancy began her successful career as an acting coach and teacher in Los Angeles.

Her goal is simple: to have actors fall in love with the craft of acting so that they approach their work–not as a chore–but as a way of life that thrills and challenges them. Her belief is that dedication and commitment to the craft is key to everything.

Studying technique with Larry Moss passed down from Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner and Uta Hagen and interpreted by and perfected through the brilliant and thoughtful mind of her mentor, Larry Moss, Nancy realized early that having technique is key to one’s confidence. Her goal is to bring out the deepest meaning of text by teaching script analysis, thus encouraging the actor to stamp a performance with their unique interpretation of the material.

The actors Nancy has coached include: Oscar winners Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto, Emma Stone; Emmy Award winner, Jennifer Aniston; Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner; Golden Globe nominated Bryce Dallas Howard; Oscar nominated actors Margot Robbie, Josh Brolin, Rachel McAdams, Hailee Steinfeld, Michelle Pfeiffer and Emmy nominated actors Matt Bomer, Patton Oswalt, Chris Pine.
